Tight or sore muscles are common, and can be caused by a range of things, from exercise, to spending too long in an unusual posture, such as gardening, or on a computer. When muscles become overactive, they can cause pain, fatigue, headaches, and restricted movement.

Sports massage is one of the most effective ways to relieve muscle tightness. It works both physically and mentally, by helping relax tight or overactive muscles and relieving stress. It encourages relaxation, eases aches and pains, and increases circulation to speed up the healing process and keep you healthy.

The benefits of Sports Massage include:

  • Increased joint range of movement (ROM) and flexibility

  • Release of muscular tension, spasm and Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS)

  • Improve circulation and blood flow to bring fresh oxygen to the tissues

  • Promotes overall healing and well-being

  • Decreased neurological excitability (nerves are more relaxed)

  • Injury prevention

  • Maximise performance

  • Decreased pain sensitivity

  • Strengthens the immune system

  • Better sleep
